Heat Pumps

One system. All-year comfort.

A cold-climate heat pump replaces both your furnace and your AC, heating New England homes down to -15°F while cutting energy use.

A heat pump moves heat instead of burning fuel, which is why it runs quieter and costs less than the furnace it replaces. For most New England homes it is the single biggest comfort upgrade available right now.

Frequently asked

Do heat pumps actually work in Boston winters?+

Yes. Modern cold-climate heat pumps such as Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat and Bosch IDS are rated to deliver full heat down to -13°F or -15°F, which is colder than almost any Boston night.

Can I keep my furnace as backup?+

Absolutely. We often design dual-fuel systems that run the heat pump as the primary source and keep your existing furnace for the coldest stretches. It's a good fit for larger homes.

How long does an install take?+

Most whole-home heat pump installs take 2 to 4 days with our own crews, and we work to keep the disruption to a minimum.
